ABOUT
Founded in Aspen in 1973, William Havu Gallery has been a leading voice in contemporary art for more than five decades. Located in Denver in its current, AIA award-winning postmodern building since 1998, the gallery presents six exhibitions annually, fostering an ongoing dialogue between regional artistic perspectives and broader national and international movements in realism and abstraction.
With a focus on established mid-career artists, the gallery also champions emerging regional talent distinguished by exceptional maturity and artistic quality. Since its founding, William Havu Gallery has combined its exhibition program with professional framing services, continuing a tradition of comprehensive support for collectors and artists alike.
Through more than 50 years of critically recognized exhibitions, William Havu Gallery has built a reputation for representing artists of regional significance and national acclaim, remaining committed to presenting work of lasting artistic importance.
“The William Havu Gallery is one of only a handful of top-tier contemporary venues in Denver. Havu specializes in the work of advanced or mid-career artists, most of whom work in Colorado or the Southwest.”
Michael Paglia, Westword Art Critic
“More than any other commercial gallery in Denver, William Havu knows how to mix and match its artists into exhibits that bring out the best in them, and each other. It helps that its roster is full of talent, but it takes a separate kind of curatorial talent to make a show so cohesive that it stands as an actual exhibit, a pleasure to visit, even if you’re not out shopping for art.”
Ray Mark Rinaldi, Denver Post Fine Arts Critic
